Meatrix
The cow came to the family farm and found the pig named Leo in the farm. Leo was taught the fact of farms by taking the red pills from the cow. This move shows meatrix which means a lie of the factory.
These movies that pigs in the factory are being animal abuse such as packed into small and dark spaces. Pigs don't even expose to the sun in the space where can't move enough. Therefore, it is going to the reasons that pigs have stresses and disease, chickens are cut their bill by the factory machine related to a human's contagious. There is also environment problems which are air pollution and groundwater contamination because of industrial wast. The factory destroy even their communities environment and many small family farms were extinguished since the factory became agricultural industry.
In the past few years people are getting interested in organic food. People noticed to it is much better to human health and environment.
Through these movies, we learned the fact of the factory farms was unbelievable fact. The agricultural industry made their profit instead of they treat animals abuse. Now, people as consumers should figure out the fact of farms.
I didn't know the conditions of factory was so bad to animals. Animals are treated like that they never have happy life. People in the factory treat animals abuse, there would be many problems such as stresses or contaminations to animals. After I saw these movies, I felt so sorry to the animals and small family farms that I had never known about them.
Why are there so many factory farms, because they spent a lot of money to control small farms, they finally were extinguished by the factory farms. From these stories, I have to research more about farms. I really want to support the family farms. Firstly that we can do is to know about ingredients are safe or not.
Those are serious problems because food is the most important to us and our family's health.

Blog Post #4 Green Week
Smart Grid
We had taught about revitalizing the waterways and waterfronts.
The lecture from Con Edison team said that they have many ways to save money and helps protect the environment. For example, Smart Grid- catch all term, improved monitoring, Architectural changes(3G),Better Algorithms, Pistributed Generation. They also have "Green Friday" the electric system and early electric system. Electric demand and power plant efficiency. Mid 1990 - on set of deregulation; 1G - 2G - 3G. Migration to Smart Grid; SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acgusition)
I think Smart Grid is the most convenient system for making power included save energy, money. It is helpful our environment.
Urban Chicken Farming
Urban Chicken farming is keeping chickens in an urban or suburban setting.
In NYC, there are around 30 communities are farming eggs.
The one of local effort is that disturb neighbors because they are annoyed and loud. On the other hands, the benefits of Urban Chicken Farming are the eggs are made by high quality protein and no chemicals.
I think people should focus on local farming to save the money and be healthier. We can raise chickens own backyard coops even though.

From these articles, it is very considerable for people who has no choice to work in fast food restaurant. I try to keep this matter in my mind and figure out to get an idea what I can do.
